Mr. Drozdowicz has over fifteen years of experience in environmental site assessments, analysis and remedial investigations. Mr. Drozdowicz has experience with various major oil projects (pipelines and terminals), manufacturing/storage facilities and retail gasoline stations in AL, CA, IL, IN, LA, MI, and OH. Mr. Drozdowicz has performed numerous site assessments/investigations, pilot tests, soil excavations/UST removal(s), installation/O&M of treatment systems in various states. Mr. Drozdowicz has also performed Phase I and Phase II environmental assessments for property transactions. Mr. Drozdowicz’s current work includes management and support for a large portfolio of retail sites and bulk facilities for a major and independent oil companies, addressing regulatory and technical issues related to remedial actions at LUST and voluntary Clean-up Sites. Mr. Drozdowicz has provided consulting services for all phases of the environmental projects. Responsibilities also include proposal preparation, client communication, general health & safety, and training of entry level personnel.

Major Petroleum Retailers – Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio

Project Scientist/Manager for activities at multiple LUST sites. Project tasks include coordination of field activities, site assessment, excavation and UST removal, regulatory correspondence, report and budget preparation and review, Tier 1 & 2 RBCA evaluations and Environmental Risk Assessment using USEPA & ASTM Models; conducted environmental site assessments, remedial system design, permitting, feasibility analysis, development and implementation of corrective action plans for remediation of air, water, soil and groundwater. Managed a team that included project professionals, staff professionals, and field technicians.

Major Petroleum Bulk Distributor(s) – Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio

Project Manager for full range of environmental services for petroleum terminals/pipelines. Project tasks included site assessment (soil/gw/air), release identification, compliance monitoring and sampling, permitting, regulatory correspondences, report, budget preparation, pilot testing, development of treatment system options, and oversight of installation/ design/maintenance of various treatment systems (gw/fp) at various facilities to achieve compliance.

Major Petroleum Distributor – Wyoming

Project Manager for full range of environmental services for petroleum pipeline(s). Project tasks included site assessment (soil/gw/fp), release identification, monitoring and sampling, regulatory correspondences, report, budget preparation, pilot testing, development of treatment system options (bioremediation), and oversight of installation/design/ maintenance of oxygen delivery system.

United States Marine Corp Base Barstow, CA

Project Scientist/Manager. Assisted with the research and design of an air treatment system to reduce volatile organic compounds from paint emissions for the USMC. Project tasks included operating the bench scale pilot study by collecting air and water samples, recording and analyzing data, and making modifications/repairs to the system. Based on the results of the bench scale pilot study, built/designed/operated Bio-Filter (air treatment system design) in field study at the US Marine Corp Base, Barstow, CA.

Major Manufacturing Facilities – Michigan

Project Scientist/Manager as member of audit team that conducted full-facility audit. Within the regulatory framework of CAA, CWA, RCRA, SARA and LUST inspected facility and identified areas, processes and programs needed to be addressed from both regulatory and “good” business perspective. As a result of audit, developed program to eliminate phosphorus from cleaners/powder coat process, modified waste water treatment system to eliminate NPDES violations, developed a storm water discharge plan, and worked on implementation of a plan to eliminate exceedances of HAP from plastic department. Responsibilities included site assessment, sampling, bench top studies and development of plan to bring plant into compliance.

Major Automotive Manufacturing Facility Michigan

Project Scientist as part of a team to investigate the generation of waste and waste stream process in paint department of various plants. Spent days at plant with both union and staff to develop simple, easy to use, waste management plan that would improve daily house keeping of small quantities of waste. The plan met the expectations of the Environmental Engineers and led to improvement in the management of “small quantities” of waste that are routinely generated in paint department. Waste management plan was entirely consistent with federal, state and local regulations.

Hazardous Waste Landfill Michigan

Project Scientist. Developed comprehensive SPCC plan that was implemented at large HW landfill. Project tasks included extensive on-site inventory of all “chemicals” (petroleum and hazardous) that are used and stored on site, monitoring of daily activities that included transportation, storage, treatment and disposal of hazardous wastes, interview of on-site laborers, vehicle operators, and staff, monitor/sample emissions and discharges, and review permits.

Major Automotive Manufacturing/Distributing Facilities Alabama, Louisiana, Michigan

Staff Scientist, Chemist, Project Manager. Part of team that studied and developed innovative natural and enhanced bioremediation methodologies and systems to clean up petroleum and chlorinated solvent impacted properties at various facilities. Project tasks included site assessment and monitoring, bench top pilot studies, laboratory analysis (chemical, biological and microbiological), pilot testing, development/ design/implementation/maintenance of various naturally enhanced bioremediation systems including methodologies such as sparging (air and oxygen), oxygen delivery, nutrient enhancement, bio-venting, injection (air and oxygen), etc. as part of program to perform both voluntary and regulatory remediation and cleanup.
